All along, photography is a world of males. Especially in the field of folklore photography, the female photographers are extremely rare. With the development of women‘s right movement, today‘s photography industry emerged a large number of women who are not inferior to any man! The female photographer use their unique feminine and sensibility to record life and restore truth.

In CFPA, the percentage of female member is growing. There are about 1,200 female members by the end of March, 2010, accounts for 3%, compared to about 1% three years ago. Besides, the rate of female winners of HPA has also increased. HPA2009 announced 10 female winners from all 152 winners, and the proportion is 7%, while the previous contest is just 3%.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of International Women‘s Day, we would like to salute to all female photographers, and hope you could make a great contribution to record, share and spread the diversity cultures the world over!
