In the wake of the 7.0 earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12th, 2010, CFPA on behalf of its 40,000 members are sending our sympathy to HPA participants in Dominica who affected by the natural disaster. We sincerely hope that the suffering regions and families will return to normalcy in the shortest possible time. Dominica, along with Haiti occupies the island of Hispaniola.

José Antonio Arias Peláez, the nomination winner of HPA 2009 from Dominica replied: ＂thank you very much for your concern about our tragedy, the situation in Dominican Republic it very tense. We are expecting a disaster to, but in Haiti the destruction have no word to say. We are trying to do the best we can to help and hopping with help of the other nations Haiti can be rebuild again＂.
