On Nov.9, 2009, CFPA received the mail from UNESCO regarding the election for the Presidency and the Liaison Committee. This is the first time for CFPA to exercise its voting right in UNESCO since they established the operational relationship.

The main content of the letter is to invite international Non-Governmental Organizations maintaining official relations with UNESCO to elect the next president and Liaison Committee. We attached great importance to this matter and voted on the basis of serious investigation and consideration. Furthermore, we will always actively participant in NGO-UNESCO to continue recording, spreading and sharing the folklore cultures all over the world so as to increase Chinese associations’ impacts in the world.

Since the foundation of CFPA, we are greatly supported by UNESCO: in 1998, UNESCO expressed their highly appreciations for the first contest of HPA. From HPA2000, UNESCO has been granting CFPA the right to use the logo of UNESCO and acting as one of organizers of HPA. What’s more, the winning pictures of HPA2005 have been exhibited at headquarter of UNESCO, as a part of the 60th founding anniversary celebration of UNESCO. To conclude, the every step of CFPA’s development has a great deal to do with the support and help from UNESCO.
