We Sophie and James from international exchange department of China Folklore Photographic Association (CFPA) visited Suriname embassy and met with Ambassador Mohamed Isaak Soerokarso on December 24th, 2009.

The embassy staff warmly received us, and the talks went on in a friendly atmosphere. We introduce ambassador the CFPA’s mission and history, especially the “Humanity Photo Awards (HPA)” 2009. In addition, we presented the picture album of HPA 2009 to ambassador in memory of our well-established relationship. In return, he gave us a book “Discovered Suriname” as a gift.

Ambassador was very happy and delighted to know that Surinamese photographer Rudi Moeridjan has won Nomination Awards this time, and said he would continue paying attention to HPA. “My duty and pleasure is to do something that can introduce Suriname, my country and its culture to more people, particularly people of China. Your function and infrastructure provide a platform for people to know other people, their life and culture in a vivid way. I hope CFPA can organize more of this kind of events in the future.” Ambassador said excitedly.
