The latest news from Indian authoritative photographic magazine Better Photographer, saying photographer Amit Madheshiya from Bombay won the Education, Recreation, sports& Technology category in the HPA2009.(Humanity Photo Awards 2009) with the bonus of USD2,000.(approx. RS. 92,000). His awarding-winning work is a photo series named The Talkies in a Tuck, which has documented the traveling cinemas of rural Maharashtra. BTW, India renowned photographer Dheeraj Paul is a part of the international judging panel.
HPA2009, which has been successfully organized for six times, was co-organized by China Folklore Photographic Association (CFPA), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Guangzhou Asia Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC). The fascinating award ceremony was held on Sept. 16 in Guangzhou, China.
