HPA2011 Sepak Takrow in Laos

June 11, 2014 - Editor’s Choice - Post by: WfpaEdit

Sepak Takraw originated in South-East Asia. It is similar to volleyball, but different in that it is played with the feet, not with the hands. It began around the 15th century in Thailand, and boys used to stand in a circle, kicking a ball made of interlaced rattan. In 1866 it was made official as an agonistic game and the Siam Sport Association laid down the first official rules, bringing in the volleyball net.
